Our Story

Americish (adjective): more than one thing at once, and perfectly happy about it. As in — not quite American, not quite British, but somehow completely both.

The Word

Every family invents its own vocabulary. Ours needed a word for the way we live: pancakes that spark diplomatic incidents, two national anthems hummed in one kitchen, a household where “football” requires clarification before anyone gets excited. American didn’t cover it. British didn’t either. So we did what our family has always done with two perfectly good options — we took both, and made something new. Americish.

The Family

We’re Drew and Kim. Drew grew up in Reading, England — proper queues, stronger tea — and Kim in Atlanta, Georgia, where sweet tea is non-negotiable and “y’all” is a complete sentence. We built our life together in Milton, Georgia, which means one of us settled twenty miles from where she started, and the other is four thousand miles from home and still explaining that Reading is a town, not a hobby. Along the way we started sharing the funny, complicated, occasionally baffling reality of a two-nation household on YouTube — and discovered a whole community of families living between the same two flags.

The Brand

Americish started as stories. It became a brand because so many of you told us the stories were yours too — expats and immigrants, military families, transatlantic marriages, kids with two passports and one bedtime. What we make is for that overlap: designs that celebrate both sides of the pond with heritage, humor, and heart. No picking sides. Both flags fly here.

How We Make Things

Everything we sell is printed to order, just for you — no warehouses of surplus, no landfill runs. It takes a few days longer, and we think that’s a fair trade. If something arrives less than right, we’ll make it right. That’s not a policy so much as how we were both raised — on either side of the ocean.

Life Between Two Cultures

That’s what this is, in the end. Not half of one thing and half of another — all of both. Different, not wrong. Two nations, one family. And if you’ve ever had to explain Boxing Day to your in-laws, or defend ranch dressing to someone who calls it “wrong” — welcome home. You’re Americish too.
